Water and conflict
This issue centres around the measurement of waterflows. In a post-conflict zone the watermanagement turns out to be an important indicator for the chances of security and stability. But to manage water, you need to measure it over time. This is a problem. Data is missing, not available or not shared.
Nonetheless, some data is available and we’re trying to find out if we can use the available data to measure the waterflows. Maybe we can also come up with other indicators (based on other datasets) to indirectly measure waterflows in the Tigris-Euphrate Basin (Turkey, Irak, Iran, Syria). Our aim is to understand if the information we can get our hands on, is sufficient to start a simple monitoring system.
